A Weekend to Celebrate

Happy Monday!

How is it February?  Usually I wonder how it became Monday so quickly, but another month?

My baby turned 14 yesterday.  She's taller than me, but still my baby.
She's a smart, sensitive gal who likes to celebrate herself.  So that's what we did.

All weekend...

Friday night 16 of us went to Dicks Last Resort.  This rude restaurant proved to be quite comical.  Thankfully they kept the comedy age appropriate. Whew!

Throughout the evening they place a hat on each person.
Our family sporting our hats with pride.

Some were spot on: My mom is my ATM.

The best hat went to my sweet mother in law:

Titanic Survivor

The festivities were followed by a sleepover without much sleep, soccer, a family celebration, shopping and a lovely dinner.

It was a wonderful weekend and I may take today to recover and catch up on real life.

You only turn 14 once!

Back to reality today!

Enjoy the start of February!

Building A Bed

Hi Friends,
It's been a while since I popped in.  Not by choice, computer issues that are above my pay grade to resolve.

So today I reach out via phone.  That limits my ability to edit, size and make photos look good.

With limitations, I will share some in progress pictures.

Our youngest has a birthday this week. She shared a photo of a bed she liked and thought Hubby could whip up. This exchange was on Thursday.

Here is progress on Sunday:

Hubby is killing it!

Cabinets are being used as the base.  Thus creating much needed storage.

A few hours later...

She even gets a hideaway for storage or playing hide and seek.  I have to laugh because she's 14 and hasn't played in several years, but it would be a great hiding spot.

She was able to sleep in her little cove last night.

As you can see, it's in progress.  Hubby had to resume real life demands, so will return when able.

Paint will happen.

Curtains, lighting, shelves and bedding will come next.

Not only are my photos poor due to the phone, but we moved her furniture in front of the windows, so the lighting is awful. My apologies.

I hope you are warm and productive on this Monday!

Fireplace Makeover

Ah the power of paint!

After all these years, I never tire of a good makeover.

I have not found a thing that Maison Blanche no-prep paint cannot update!

Just look at this fantastic makeover a customer completed.

FIREPLACE MAKEOVER:

She hated the brown tile.  She had updated everything throughout the house
and the tile stood out even more.

She was not a fan.

Maison Blanche to the rescue!  She selected Oyster and gave it a few coats.

The result is incredible.

Now:

Need to update?
Maison Blanche Furniture Paint is available in 42 colors and dries in 20-30 minutes!
Complete your project in an afternoon!

Open tomorrow 11:00-4:00.

Hello, Goodbye

Hello & Happy New Year!

I hope all is well and you're excited for a fresh start.

We wrapped up 2015 with a family getaway for Christmas.
It was much needed and so perfect for the four of us.

Christmas was unique and festive in the Bahamas.

Nothing traditional!
We missed the palm tree photo, but you get the idea.

We returned home and had a guest for a few nights.
These girls have been friends since birth.
We live in different states now, but their friendship has never wavered.

Hubby and I spent a night in Detroit with friends (and I went pickin') and now
I am ready to focus on 2016.
Whew

It was a wonderful end to a good year and I welcome a slower pace, reconnecting with friends and finishing off the pile of books on my night stand.

We shall see if life affords me these simple goals.

I'm wishing you all the Happiest New year and look forward to seeing you soon!
