Marvelous Mirror Redo

We all fall in a rut from time-to-time. I do more often than I'd like to admit.

When faced with filling the shoppe, I will crush on a color and use it over & over.  Sometimes I'll crush on a style and beat it to death.

Last week, I broke out of my rut and grabbed some tools that had gotten dusty.
I got out the Maison Blanche Glaze in Tobacco and got reacquainted with my "Red Hot Ruby" brush.

After Hubby forced a clean out of the garage, I found some hidden treasures.
This gigantic mirror was one of my forgotten goodies.

I grabbed some Cobblestone paint and got busy.
Then the fun began.
I brushed on some glaze and then ran Red Hot Ruby through the glaze.  This left faint lines-very similar to Restoration Hardwares mass produced finish.
It was awesome!
I worked my way around the mirror in sections.  Once dry, I rubbed it back.
This allowed several tones, including the original wood to come through.

With some help moving her, she proudly rests on top of the buffet in the shoppe.
I love the technique and will be dusting off more tools in the near future!

We are open:
Friday 11:00-4:00
Saturday 10:00-4:00

XO-
