Christmas Card Photos

Yesterday was just beautiful.  The temperature, the breeze, the sun - so I grabbed my girls and did an impromptu photo shoot.

Yes people, October 27 and I was getting a Christmas card photo!

Or so I thought...

I have no idea what they were thinking in some of these pics.  They are teenagers - enough said.

I think I can work with something I snapped.  

I love all the professional photos my friends have done and I always have the best intentions of scheduling a session, but then I get distracted and it doesn't happen.

I'm just happy we were home on this beautiful day and no one was injured during my photo session.

To get them printed, addressed and mailed will be the next hurdle.

Restyled Nightstand

The weather was fabulous, the temps were perfect, the Buckeyes won in a nail biter and double overtime and I enjoyed it all!

But now it's Monday and back to work we go.

Up first for this week is a restyled nightstand.

I have had this piece for so long, I cannot even find the before photos!  

It's been a few different colors, as I used it to test colors and finishes.

But, it's a solid, hard working piece, so it was time to restyle her and present her.

Not taking herself too seriously, she is finished in a fun way.

The outside is painted in Maison Blanche Confederate Gray with a Dark Wax.

The drawers are painted in Franciscan Gray and clear wax.

The numbers are Confederate Gray.

She's so pretty, all restyled with her own identity and purpose!

Also, we have received and re-stocked all our Maison Blanche paint colors and waxes.  Yes, this includes the coveted Wrought Iron and Coffee Bean!

China Hutch

This baby was in bad shape.  I rescued her and gave her new life - with the help of 

Maison Blanche Antique Furniture Paint & Waxes.

Finished in Confederate Gray (darker gray), she came back to life.

Once dry, I played with Dark Wax on the edges and then White Lime Wax in the detailed parts.

The Lime Wax really completed the look!

The inside and shelves were dry brushed in Maison Blanche Oyster.

The color was perfect for our Buckeye Gear and is neutral enough for any decor.

If I was a good blogger, I would have the before shot.  Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

Ikea Part 2

One of the major benefits of traveling every weekend for soccer, 

is discovering the fabulous shopping spots.

Last weekend, we spent a few days in Cinci and Ikea.  This weekend, we did the same.

Yes people, I hit Ikea twice in one week!

Here are some of my goodies:

See that darling aqua cart?  It is perfect for our paint supplies and necessities.

I love it!

Keeping with the paint organization, I purchased several of these magnetic boards for our color samples.  This lets us remove them and let customers match to fabric, change lighting, etc.

We are finishing up all 42 colors, for this space!

Loving this too.

We finished the mudroom lockers the day before school started in August.  We have been on the hunt for baskets ever since.  In fact, I bought several on my first trip to Ikea, only to return them this week.

Since Ikea has 459,000 baskets, I found the perfect ones.

This coming weekend, we head in a different direction.  Wonder what I will discover...

The shoppe has been restyled and will be ready for you when we open tomorrow at 10:00!

Enjoy Fall

Good Morning Friends,

I love Fall.  The colors, the weather, football and the boots I get to wear.

We often rush to get to Christmas.  Unfortunately, the retail world has dictated that we welcome the craziness earlier and earlier each year.

As a small business, we get caught up in this.  If we do not order early enough, things are unavailable.  If we do not sit on inventory for months, we will have nothing.

I have hoarded my gathered goods, ordered some fabulous gift items and have been crafting for a while.  All with a November goal.

We have sourced unique, handmade gems, crafted beautiful home decor and fun gifts.  We will be ready for the craziness, while providing a relaxed and fun experience in the shoppe.

Our OPEN HOUSE is 

Thursday, November 13 and 

Friday, November 14.

But before it all arrives in the shoppe, we will enjoy Fall.
