Antique Wax

When I first started finishing furniture with wax, I stayed with clear.

Honestly, I loved the look of the dark, but it intimidated me.

That was a long time ago.  Once I tried it (many projects ago), I used it often.

I recently found a new wax that has me totally smitten.  It's an antique wax that does not require clear wax first!
WOO HOO - less time, less money!

It transforms a piece immediately.

Antique wax can give the piece an old world feel.

It will provide a rich finish.
It will transform colors, adding depth.
Again, dark wax over black provides a rich finish.
I always use dark wax over red.  It tones down the color and highlights the detail.

I did this yesterday.  Antique wax directly on a stained table top.

Look at the rich, deep finish it provides.

It will also protect your paint or table top.

To clean a waxed finish, simply use a damp cloth.

Bottom line: don't fear the dark wax.  It's your friend and will completely transform your treasures.
