Unplanned Renovation

Good Morning!

We have had a crazy start to 2014 - not crazy good, just crazy.

As you know we live in an old farmhouse, circa 1901.  This lovely home has copper pipes.  Not good.
Our pipes froze even before the big freeze.
Our dishwasher froze last week.
Then we lost our master bath shower, then the sinks.  Sucky.
Then the inevitable occurred- water came through the kitchen ceiling yesterday afternoon.  Not good.

At one point it was so bad, you could hear the water running through the wall.

The plumber comes today, but I already know that he will replace the pipes.
How do you get to the pipes?
You cut through the drywall and ceiling.
The drywall that was just painted on Friday.

I never even took after photos of our newly painted bathroom.

So what's the plan?
I figure if they are going to open walls, we may want to rearrange a bit.
I have a few ideas, not sure if they will become a reality, but it's worth a shot, right?

This is the root of many issues.  Perhaps a claw foot tub instead?
This wall is my nemesis.  Perhaps a column instead?
Then I could get the island in the kitchen.

Now I know I'm just dreaming, what I really need is a nice warm shower and for the pile of dirty dishes to be washed, but where's the fun in that?

What does that mean for this week?
It means that I will hang out with the plumber a lot.

The shoppe is open today, so you can get out of your house and enjoy some shopping.
11:00 - 4:00.

Have a good one & stay warm!

XO-

“…you could hear the water running through the wall.” – This is the sound that you least expect to hear in your house. Good thing that a plumber came in to fix the problem. I hope it all goes back to normal.
