Buffet Reveal

Happy Friday All!
I am wrapping the week up with a reveal!  I am absolutely loving this color combo!

This is what I started with.

It's a classic piece so I scooped it up!  Hubby worked his mad skills on the top and then we moved her inside for some love.

The whole piece was painted in Maison Blanche Pecan.  It's a soft brown/beige.

But I busted out the new Lime Wax.  This stuff is ah-mazing.

It softens the color and gives it a wash-effect.  It's a wax, so it protects as well.
The finished look is very Restoration Hardware.

Here she is with her jewelry in place.

We moved her to the shop yesterday.
Everyone that saw her said the pictures do not do this piece justice.
You'll just have to pop in and see this beauty!

Shoppe is open 11-4 Today & Tomorrow.

A Trunk

The girls are back in school!
I had daughter #2 home sick on Monday and then snow days Tuesday and Wednesday.
It was starting to feel like Christmas break.

I had to flee yesterday, so I opened the shoppe.

I brought in a few items, prepared for our Pinterest Party today and spent lots of
time scrubbing the floors.  Ugh!
They are so pretty when they are clean.
Should I ask customers to remove their shoes?
I'm kidding, but it crossed my mind.

On to this beauty...
This amazing trunk is my latest obsession addition.

I love the stamps, markings and the history these trunks have.
It would be an ideal place to store blankets, toys, etc.
And of course, makes the perfect coffee table.
I'm excited for our Pinterest Party today!
Watch for photos on FB as we complete our monogrammed wreaths.

Store is open today - Saturday 11-4!

Starting the Buffet

We have another snow day today!  I am actually excited, since I knew it was coming.  These temperatures are insanely low, so I have some plans to stay busy and put the girls to work too.

I have set up shop in the den.

I suppose I could have cropped the other stuff out, but nope, I plopped this beauty in the room, on a sheet and snapped the picture.

I painted her all pretty in Maison Blanche Pecan and then played with the
Lime Wax (my new favorite).
See the depth?  I only did the right panel.
It gives a Restoration Hardware look.

Lime Wax gives a durable finish like the other Maison Blanche waxes.

Today, I plan to finish her up.

A HUGE benefit to using Maison Blanche products is no odor.  I can easily paint smack in the middle of the house and avoid the freezing garage.

We have some other crafts, signs and painting on the agenda today.
My girls are thrilled to be part of the fun.

Stay Warm!

I have been working with Maison Blanche Antique Furniture Paint for many months.  I have worked with chalk paint for a few years.  By no means am I an expert.
I have simply been working with it for a while.

So when I teach a workshop I always second guess myself -
should I have told them this instead?
should I show them this?

I have taught a few workshops, two this week, and I finally had an ah-ha moment.

My goal for each workshop is to give people the confidence to try.

In yesterdays class, they kept asking about different colors.  Instead of sticking to my plan, we played.  We busted out nearly half of the 36 colors and played around.  We layered, we placed similar colors next to each other, we distressed, we wiped off - we played.

Then the wax stage came and we just tried it all.
Clear, light brown, dark brown and the new lime wax.  Each one gave a different look, we made colors deeper, richer and in some cases beachy.

I found combinations that I loved.  I branched out too.  I learned.

I have enjoyed every one of the workshops I have taught.  I have learned from the people attending the class and from their creativity as well.

When a gal was leaving yesterday, she said, "I would recommend this to anyone".
I saw her have an ah-ha moment during the class.
It was then that she realized she could transform her furniture.  She could paint her patio set, her bookcase, perhaps the vanity...

She left with the confidence to try.

Mission accomplished!

Have a great weekend.
Come visit me today & tomorrow 11-4!

Glamorous Chic

I am pretty excited to share this furniture restyle!
I pushed myself to go beyond my tried and true "look" and embrace the Glamorous Chic.

I scooped up this buffet/server as soon as I saw her.

Here's what I started with:
She wasn't in bad shape, just a little wear here and there.  And she was very shiny.

She needed a little pizazz to show off her details.

Maison Blanche Wrought Iron (black) to the rescue!
And to accent the details and the hardware, Maison Blanche Pewter Organza did the trick.

Finished in Maison Blanche Dark Wax, she is now very glamorous!
Buffed to a high sheen, she is styling.

She will be making her debut in the shoppe today when we open.  I picture her below a tv, but she is perfect for a dining room with all her storage.  She would make a good dresser.  Oh the possibilities!

Wednesday - Saturday 11-4

You can see shoppe updates on FB.  Like us here.

Have a great day & thanks for stopping by!

Pinterest Party Added

Hello All,

I am wondering if I am home schooling my kids.  They have not gone to school too much this month and it's causing my productivity to plateau.

Today they are back at it and so am I.  Finishing up some goodies I plan to share this week.

In the mean time, you all are loving our new Pinterest Party idea!
So much so, that we have added an evening class.

You will specify your initial, the color of your ribbon (green, blue, black, aqua/teal, hot pink).
You will also choose a coordinating burlap chevron ribbon.

The easiest way to reserve your spot is to pop in to the store.  We have samples of ribbons and the finished product.
Wednesday - Saturday

You can also email:

Have a great day!
