It's Show Week!

Good Morning!
I hope you all had a great weekend, as we did.  The Buckeyes won, which always puts Hubby and me in good spirits.  Add a couple of soccer wins and a productive Saturday and we have a good weekend!

Which I needed, because it's show week!  Let the craziness continue begin!

Let me get some information out there.

It is only this Friday.  The setting is amazing and the vendors are fabulous!  It is worth the trip.

I will have a little bit of stuff.  I held back a ton in preparation for the show.

That's from my last trip.
Most of these goodies will debut on Friday.

A petite vanity - perfect for a little girl.
A very cool butcher block island.

I attempted to leave most of the goods in the shoppe.  However, I plan to grab a few goodies today.
Suitcases, scales, fans, industrial goodies and maybe a few other treasures.
Don't worry, when I take something out, I will put a new find in its place!

I've restocked on these cuties, so will bring a bunch to the show.

I will finish a few things up today, load tomorrow and set up Wednesday.

Which brings me to Wednesday - the shoppe will be CLOSED, so we can get everything set.

It will be a busy week with show prep and Lisa will be working the shoppe.
Thursday 12-7
Friday 11-5
Saturday 11-5

So if you can't make it to the show, we will be sure to stock the shoppe with lots of goodies for Thursday!

Let the work week begin!

Big Changes

If you are expecting a huge announcement about the shoppe, I have mislead you.
The changes that we will experience over the next 6 weeks are at home with this little cutie.
Our little soccer gal will have to wait until spring season to take the field.
She will have to wait until winter training, in January, to run.
She can still text.

And if she can text, then she should be able to rock the glue gun and some scissors.
She may be the best crafter at the end of her sentence.

Bear with me as we get used to our new routine, I juggle schedules and prep for the show.

I am at the shoppe today and tomorrow 11-5 and will be bringing in some new goodies!

Have a good weekend.

Very Shabby Makeover

I had a post planned, but unfortunately it did not all come together.  Sometimes stuff happens.  My little one, 11 years old and almost as tall as me, but still my baby, rolled her ankle last night at practice.  I have a feeling today will not go as I planned either. ugh

I am looking forward to our Vendor Night this evening.   The shoppe is open 12-7 and Amanda, Initial Outfitters, will join us from 5-7.  I love the catalog and can't wait to see the goodies in person.  Join us!

In case you were beginning to doubt the power of paint, I have a simple but fabulous transformation.

I got this little cutie at the lake.  I actually thought of keeping it as is.

But where's the fun in that?

So I made it pop with a little white and heavy distressing.  It screams cottage and looks oh so chic.

Sometimes a few coats of white chalk paint is all you need to revive a tired table.

You can see her in the shoppe today 12-7.  And remember to join us for the fun event tonight.

Thanks for letting me share my makeover and random thoughts.  Have a great day!

Gathering for the Show

I know I have said it many times before, and daily to myself, "I don't know how people do multiple shows!"  It is a ton of work!

The show takes place next Friday, October 4, set up is before that and loading kicks off on Tuesday.  In order to load, I must have items ready to go.  Yikes!

I spent some time this week gathering items from the barns, garage and house.  I plan to supplement with smalls from the shoppe and rotate items around.  That's the plan at least.

I want to offer a variety of items that are easy to transport for the customer.  The show offers assistance for items too.

Here's a peek at the beginning of my gathering.

 Ladders, chalkboards, oars...oh my!
Shabby table, vanity, bird cage, cart, suitcases, butcher block island.
More lovely chalkboards.

The corbels are amazing.  The bench seat will be redone - it's cast iron and super heavy (& old).

Items are being cleaned, repaired, repurposed and restyled.  I'm getting excited for next Friday, although much work must be done before then.

I plan to take a break Thursday night and check out Initial Outfitters at the shoppe.

Amanda will be sharing her wares from 5-7.  Come check it out!

SHOPPE HOURS:
Wednesday 11-5
Thursday 12-7
Friday 11-5
Saturday 11-5

Have a great Wednesday!

Fall for Yellow

Hello Friends!

We got lucky this weekend and both games were cancelled.  We actually had a free day!  With a few pieces finding new homes this week and the Rural Society Show looming,
I was able to easily fill my time.

First, I logged some QT with the girls.
It was so nice to spend time outside of the car without rushing around.

Then furniture was on the agenda.  Everything is in progress.  So I opted to share the piece that just landed in the shoppe.  I am loving it!

We started with a darling, but beat up antique cabinet.  Hubby fixed her up and I got busy.  She was missing the doors on the front and the entire back panel.

One coat on the outside and another covered the inside.
 Dog photo bombed.
I did a second coat on the shell and left the top for a worn look.

New handles, some distressing and a layered blue on the inside, make this baby brand new.
Matching baskets, make her useful too.

You can see the salmon color popping through the blue.
She's available in the shoppe.  Would be perfect in a kitchen, hall, as a night stand - many possibilities!

Note: The paint used is NOT chalk paint.  It was a sample from Blackberry House Paint, based in Tennessee.  I will share details soon.

Have a great day!

Rustic and Glam

Happy Friday!

Another great week is almost done and a busy, fun weekend is on the horizon.

If you live in Central Ohio you are well aware of The New Albany Classic Invitational and Grand Prix & Family Day happening this Sunday.
It draws over 20,000 folks far beyond our state.

Every year since moving to New Albany, I have volunteered at this event and have enjoyed the activities with my kids.

Unfortunately, this year I have a conflict and cannot be a part of this wonderful day.  So, we are channeling the horse themed day at the shoppe.

It's a bit rustic and a bit glam.  Perfect for kids and adults too!

This is designed by a local, teenage entrepreneur.

It comes with the heavy weight chain and is available for $20 in the shoppe!

We are filled with fun, fall finds and goodies.

OPEN:
Today & Tomorrow
11:00 - 5:00
15 W Main Street
New Albany, OH 43054

Have a great weekend!

Restyled Dresser

Today I have a before and after to share.  I love the power of paint, it never lets me down.

Before

Using chalk paint, I gave her a good dose of color.  To bring out the details and alter the color a bit, I used a mix of waxes.

You can really see the waxes in the photo above.
I love the detail.

Look at this little treasure on the top.  A secret little compartment for your treasures.

A big benefit of using chalk paint - low VOCs and no odor.  I finished this in the store!

She is now ready for a new home.

Don't forget our fun event tonight!

Looking forward to seeing you & eating pie!

**SHOPPE is OPEN ALL DAY
Noon-7:00.
