An Amazing Makeover

Here's a Blast from the Past.  A year ago I restyled this beauty.
I still miss her, but know she is in a good home.
Thought I would re-share & reinforce the power of paint!

LATE SUMMER 2013

I am quite smitten with this makeover!  I hope you like the new look as much as I do!

This is how I originally found her.  It was love at first sight.  The top is thick and solid.  There are beautiful lines.

Before you question why I painted her, she needed some love.  There were scars on the top, knicks here and there and the drawers needed to be planed in order to operate smoothly.

After Hubby gave it some love, it was my turn to work some magic.  Here is the result.

LOVE!

I painted it in a beige/grey chalk paint.  Light distressing followed by a mixed wax that I applied by hand.  New knobs and a fabric lining in the silverware drawer, finished it up.

Before

After

Someone asked me how I decide what I keep.  I do not have a hard rule, I have to take it on a case-by-case basis.  This was one of those cases - I wanted to keep it!  The problem is I just do not have the room.  If I had a dining room this would be in it!

Instead, she is in the shoppe and available for someone elses home!

Be sure to follow other projects on FB!

Have a great day!
Shoppe is open 10:00-3:00.
We have lots of fun, fall finds!
New jewelry too!

With a lot of old pieces, "I cringe" at the makeover, because they were so beautiful in my eyes before the paint. But, this one is definitely an improvement AFTER the redo... I love it~!
You done a beautiful job on it and I can see why it would be hard to part with...
Great Job~!!!
