I love sofa tables.
They can be used in so many ways - desk, entry table, serving buffet...
I usually grab one if I see it, but it's been a while. Until I spied this Pottery Barn
table a few weeks back.
She was in pretty good shape, a few scratches but sturdy and solid.
I offered her up as is on FB, but like most "found" items, she really needed to be restyled.

I rarely use latex paint for furniture. Since discovering chalk paint 2+ years ago, I have grown to love the process. Latex can be much more time consuming. But, I pictured this table in a true black and that is not available in chalk paint. So I busted out the tried and true black latex in a semi-gloss.
I brushed and rolled this baby. Giving her time to dry (the humidity doesn't help) in between coats. I wish I had more patience. I wish chalk paint came in black.
**I have made my own version of chalk paint with unsanded grout. It lightens the color, so black is not as dark. Therefore, I went with latex.

I may leave her like this. I may rub a little paint off. We shall see what strikes me.
I do know that she looks new again!

It turned out gorgeous !!!!!
I keep asking ASCP to come up with a true black :(
My girlfriend ( an ascp stocklister ) says to simply buy some black pigment and stir it in - going to try that - too spoiled now using chalk paint lol
LOVE YOUR TRANSFORMATION!
