Tips for shopping a show

Happy May!

Today is the day that we set my space at The Rural Society Show!  Suzanne and I head over this morning and will spend many hours putting it together.  I hope we have enough time!

I am so thankful for her help!  She worked with me in October, so she's familiar with the space and will put her finishing touches on it all!
This time I am fortunate to have Kimm from Reinvented work with me! We will have a great time!

Helpful tips when shopping a show:

1. Cash is the preferred method of payment, although some vendors will accept credit cards.

2. Love it? Buy it.  Most items are one of a kind.

3. Inspired? Talk to the vendor, share ideas.  I welcome feedback, suggestions and love to share how I restyle items.  I also will happily share whatever details I know about a piece.

4. Plan to be inspired!  Take it all in.  Enjoy the rolling hills, the animals, the food and the magnificent treasures that have been gathered.

5. Price a concern?  Some people will deal with you.  But be considerate.  A lot of time, effort and even money goes in to each piece.

6. Bring a truck, van, trailer - be prepared to take your finds home with you!

7. When purchasing a larger item, they have porters that will assist you.  They will hold your item until it's time to load your vehicle.  This lets you shop, relax and enjoy the day.

8. At the last show, there was a line at the gate to get in at 9:00 am.  Obviously, early folks get the best pickin'.  But don't worry, we all brought too much stuff!

9. Visit everyone - there are outbuildings, tents and barns.  Be sure to look at every vendor, you'll be amazed what draws you in!

10.  Plan to stop by and say hi to Kimm and myself.  I am in the same spot as October (below in the big/main barn).  I will have a giveaway and a big announcement.

Tomorrow I will share our set up with lots of photos!

Here's a quick before and after I shared on FB yesterday.  Hubby did the bulk of the work, I just got to paint it!
Before - a vintage/old dressing table.
Finished in Paris Grey, these nightstands are a great size for tight spaces.

One of the many treasures that will be at The Rural Society Show.  Hope you'll be there!

Updates continue on FB!

XO-

I'm truly enjoying the design and layout of your site. It's a very
easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me to come here
and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to
create your theme? Fantastic work!
