I am thrilled to be here with all of you wallowing in jealousy while Shannon is on vacay.
Shannon is my furniture restyling idol. I thought about sharing a furniture project with you all today, but my mediocrity would have slapped us all in the face.
So I made a table runner. A no-sew one. It's springy, but is still in tune with my cottagey/farmhouse/whimsical with a little touch of industrial home. style confusion, anyone?
I did a little applique with some fabric I had on hand. The base is canvas drop cloth. I had some red striped ticking fabric from PB, some brown with cream polka dots and some aqua upholstery fabric leftover from a bench project.
I do have a sewing machine and am marginally proficient at using it, but the Buckeyes were on TV so this had to be a coffee table project.
I glued a hem all around the drop cloth, traced the flower shape and the center, free-hand cut the leaves and used the same fabric glue to attached it all.
Easy peasy lemonade squeasy. Aren't you ready for lemonade season too?
Clearly, I did not break out the iron. I'm still working on a centerpiece, so that will be a post for another day.
And I'll keep practicing painting furniture until Shannon agrees to take me on as her apprentice.
Have a great day everyone! Come by REINVENTED and visit anytime!
Isn't Kimm fabulous? She is quite the DIYer and does everything. Of course she does all this with 4 kids a full time job and a start-up biz as well! Where she finds time is still a mystery.
Be sure to check out her blog, she has terrific projects!
Thanks again Kimm for entertaining and inspiring all of us! I will return tomorrow!
Til then-
XO-
