Delivery Day and More

The countdown is on!  The show opens on Friday at 9 am.  Hope you'll be there.

As you have seen from my blog posts and FB updates, a lot of work goes into a show.  It amazes me that people actually do it for a living.  They do it every weekend during show season.  I applaud them.  Hubby and I are wiped and it hasn't started!

Yesterday, we loaded, unloaded, moved a few things around and left.  These photos sum it up.

Our Arrival

A few of these beauties greeted us.  No need to tell me how much I need to have one - it ain't happening!  They may be pretty but they are so loud!

Back to work.  Many trips to and from the truck, resulted in a pile of stuff.

Since we are in a barn on a farm that has animals, we cover our goodies when we leave.

Suzanne and I will go back tomorrow to pull it together.

Just when Hubby and I could have called it a day, we gathered more treasures!
I mean, why not?  We had the truck!

Silly Hubby thought he was getting his garage back!
It never ends!

It's Show Week!

It's show week!  This Friday 9-5 and Saturday 9-3!

If you receive my posts via email, then right about now Hubby and I are heading to Mt. Vernon in a big ol' truck!

Isn't that the best way to celebrate 18 years of marriage?

I have lots to share, but lots to do!  Plan to use FB and blog when able.

I also have stuff in 2 other places!

My mother-in-law revived some beautiful silver and silver-plate pieces!

Have a great Monday!

Rural Reveal #3

Yeah it's Friday!  The show is one week away!  How did that happen?

I will be posting next week on a random basis.  I will be sharing on FB as we set things up.

Here are some items that will be making their way to the show:

A pair of shabby night stands.

Look at the baskets, not the crap beyond!

Hot pink bird cage houses a darling chandi.

Vintage dress form.

I look forward to sharing many transformations next week.  Be sure to stop back to see how these items have been restyled.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Shattered Glass

This cabinet has a long history with me.  It isn't sentimental or anything.  I bought it last summer.  That's a long time ago, for me.

You see, I bought it and hoped to sell it as found.  It had has curvy glass and the cool door and it served a purpose.  And someone else had painted and glazed it.

When we packed it in the moving van, the glass shattered!

Now what?

You know how I love chicken wire!

I finished the inside of the cabinet in Annie Sloan's Provence.  The outside is Pure White.

I had to remove the door, so it would function well as a shelving unit.  I have plans for the glass door.  Hubby shattered the remaining glass panel.

It has been waxed and is ready for the show.  I think it's the perfect display unit for Ironstone and other goodies!  And it will be for sale.

One more time...

Before I sign off, I have a few things to share...

Today is the final day to enter the GIVEAWAY for a $50 shopping spree!  It's easy to enter and you'll be thrilled you did!  Winner will be announced on FB in the morning.

Tonight at 5:00, join me and many others at the Moonlight Market in Canal Winchester, Ohio.

A Darling Bench Makeover

The countdown is on.  The show starts next Friday!  I have started to assemble my finished goods in the big barn.
I still don't have a handle on everything for the show, but I do have a bench to share that I know will appear at The Rural Society Show.

I scored this old bench a few months ago.  I hoped to use it at our dinner table.  But like most things I plan for, it changed.

Hubby had to tighten up a few things, but otherwise, it was in good shape.  Just needed some love.

Add some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, wax and distress, a lovely fabric and black trim and now you have...

She is neutral enough for any decor.  A little shabby and a whole lotta chic!

Thanks for stopping by!

Modern Restyled

Hello All,

Welcome to another Monday in April.  Wow, time is flying.  My kids will be out of school in 5 weeks. Oh my!
We spent another weekend at the soccer fields.  Luckily, we had some sunshine.  When we were home, we managed to get our act together and clean up, organize and complete a few projects.
In progress
I no longer look like I'm having a garage sale!

It feels pretty good.  And then I see unfinished projects and I realize I have much more to do for the show.

Today I am going to enjoy and share a completed and SOLD project.

I recently purchased a dresser and a coordinating piece.  It was already painted, but needed touch ups and finished.  It is a modern piece, so it's Modern Restyled.

Obviously, this piece needs to be painted.

I almost passed on this baby.  It's a bit mod for me, but it is solid and had a stamp that told me it was high quality.  The color was fantastic.
I am so grateful that they gave me the paint as well!

On Friday, I posted a shot on facebook and our dear friend grabbed it.

This darling cutie in the middle was both my girls' first grade teacher.  We love her to pieces.  Even though my girls are in 5th and 6th grade, we keep in touch and still think the world of her.

She is expecting TRIPLETS in May/June.  It was so nice to know that this dresser will be well used by three little ones.  A boy and two girls!

I suppose today's lesson...never pass up a gem that is a bit out there for you!  That could also be the definition of a hoarder...just saying.

The other piece - not sure what it's called, will be finished the same way and will be available at Heritage later this week.

Have a great Monday!

Oh yeah, GIVEAWAY is still happening!  Be sure to enter here.
