A Winner & Much More!

Happy Friday!

I hope you had a chance to check out yesterdays post Can You Paint A Piano?
I hate to be such a tease, but you will have to wait a bit for the final reveal.  It will be worth it!

My kids are on spring break next week, so I am taking my spring break from blogging to spend some quality time with the family.  After that, I will be in gitter done mode as The Rural Society Show draws near (May 3 & 4).

As I type this the temperature is hovering around 32.  Certainly not spring in my book.  In a hopeful attempt to channel some warmer weather, I stopped into Heritage Square Antique Mall with a few items and to "spring it up".

Above - my daughter decorated the new chalkboard!
Below-Look what finally made it to the booth!

And a little spring...

Polly at Georgie Emerson Vintage showed me how to make the book page flowers.  Very cute and a nice pop for spring.

Chairs are only $25 each!

Yellow is still my color of choice.

I am restocked on silver plate for all your entertaining needs.

Be sure to shop for some spring furnishings and decor at Heritage Square Antique Mall B-10!

I promise, I did not forget to draw a winner of the Shabby Apple GIVEAWAY!  Thank you for all of your entries and to our newest followers!
The Winner of the $50 Shabby Apple GC is...
#52 SALLY!

Please contact me at vintagerestyled@gmail.com and I will get you squared away.

Can You Paint a Piano? Part 2

I have an exciting update on our Can You Paint a Piano Series!

Why should a beautiful instrument be an eye sore in your home?

Suzanne is here to show us that you do not need to live with a blah piece of furniture, especially one as big as a piano!

She knew she wanted to paint the piano, the biggest challenge was selecting a paint color.  It's cool to paint a piano, it's not cool to paint it again, because of a bad color choice.

She looked at many options and decided to start with Annie Sloan's Old White.

Let me point out that this is not her first time painting!  Suzanne is an avid DIYer and has used ASCP before.
Her little helper!

One coat of Old White and she looks better already!  The single coat took about an hour to apply!

Oh no, she didn't stop there.  Her kids liked the white but she was searching for a pop of color for this room.

While she loves ASCP, she could not find a color that worked for her.  She was reluctant to make her own for a project this big, so she found CeCe Caldwell.  She was totally smitten with the popular Santa Fe Turquoise.

Are you ready?

Isn't that AWESOME!?!

I will be back with the finished piano shortly.  Be sure to follow along for the reveal!

Pickin’

Hello All,

It was so nice to spend a weekend at home this month!  We were able to accomplish a few things, prep for projects and cheer our Buckeyes to victory in the Big 10 tournament.

The next few weeks will be crazy as I prepare for the show.  That means a lot of pickin’, thriftin’ and painting.

I’ve been lax about sharing finds lately.  Some gems will find there way to my booth, others will debut at the show.  Here’s a look.

The bench is perfectly used and features the best patina.

That beautiful dresser has SOLD and will be painted white.

The old desk is begging for some love, just not sure what color it will receive.  Thoughts?

The basket holds lots of smalls, gathered along my travels to BGSU.

The white dresser has sweet details.  It too will get a makeover.

The cubbies are already in my booth, holding wonderful finds.

I prepped my booth for the weekend on Friday.  Here are some shots.

The middle black dresser sold, so the booth will look different and I need to get busy.

Pair of restyled chairs and a side table done in Graphite (charcoal color).

Little Easter touches are priced to move.

Family Decorated Home

We had the pleasure of attending a party on Saturday night.  It was great to gather with friends in our old hood.  Our friends’ home was beautiful.  They have really decorated and spruced it up beautifully.

It was very grown up.

I did not take any pictures, as I promised to be on good behavior!

But it made me think about our home.  It is anything but grown up.

Can you Paint a Piano?

Have you ever wondered about painting a piano?
Have you ever actually painted a piano?

I am 100% confident that you can paint ANYTHING!

A piano is a major focal point in a room.  It deserves to be as pretty as the rest of the furniture.

Suzanne has decided to pretty up her piano for her own home and we are along for the ride!

She has painted the room a fabulous blue and is ready to tackle the piano.

She actually played around with color, to get a feel of the direction she plans to head.

What awesome colors!

And, she will introduce us to a new kind of paint and waxes.

Follow along on the
Painted Piano Series!

Don't forget to enter the GIVEAWAY!

Have a great weekend!
