I'm Outta Here

I have resided in Columbus, Ohio since graduating from The Ohio State University many years ago.  So, it should be no surprise that we are enduring another dreary winter.  I should be used to it, right?

Every year, come the end of February I start to go a bit insane.  I am ready for sunshine and warmer temps.  I want to wear flip-flops and stay outside until bedtime.

Since we have a few weeks left until spring officially begins, I am hopping on a plane today and heading south.  I will enjoy 70 degree temps, no kids, no coats, no boots and no schedule.  My only commitment is the suite at the Spurs game on Friday night.

Know where I'm going?

Peace out Columbus -
Be back on Monday!

A New Booth

Yesterday was the most dreary day we have had in a while.  It rained all day long.  Hard.

I got soaked.

It sucked.

Let me back up and start again...

On Monday I received a text from Polly @ Georgie Emerson Vintage;
Be Prepared
Along with this photo

I got busy!  I spent Monday finishing, gathering, pricing and loading.

I spent my Tuesday unloading all my heavy items, by myself in the pouring rain.  It was awful.  My stuff was so wet I had to wipe it down with my scarf!  I know, woa is me.

Let me share my latest items and my newly restyled booth.

You may remember this dresser.  I painted it more than once.  In fact, I painted most of it again and left the drawers shabby.  The colors are very fun!

This bench with hooks is perfect inside a mudroom, hallway or garage.  It is only $90!

This little rocker is restyled in my latest color obsession.  Yellow!  I need spring!
The artwork is new and available at a fraction of the retail.  Loved the color next to the rocker.

These 6 glasses are only $12 for the set!  I wanted them but Hubby put them on my work bench - gentle hint that we have no more room for glasses!

The bench has been recovered in a fun yellow pattern.  The shabby table is on sale.

Does anyone else see the beauty in the old carriage wheel?

The gas container is for sale, although I have had it for so long that I just love it for the color it brings to the booth!
Wasn't prepared to dress my man-on-a-stand, so there he is naked.

The kissing angels are so sweet.  That is all the silver I have left.  I better restock.
How cute is this red shelving unit?  I am loving it!  It also allowed me to gather my Ironstone and other smalls into one spot.  Love it!

Have I mentioned the aqua table?  Perfect smaller size - dining area, kitchen, or even a desk.  I cannot believe I have never brought it into the booth!

I am happy to say that the booth is restocked and ready for shoppers!  Thank you to everyone who has been shopping at Vintage Restyled!  I so appreciate your business and support!

Stay dry-

TV Junkie

I have a love for television.  I start my day with the news and I fall asleep to it every night.
Yet, I am not a couch potato- I swear!

It is my way of zoning out for a bit each night.  I know, I should not have time to watch tv, but I do make the time thanks to my dvr - I watch most shows in 45 minutes.  Here's my line up:

The Good Wife

Deception - I'm holding on but it better pick up the pace!

Pretty Little Liars - yes, I watch this teen drama!

The Americans - just started watching this and am loving it.  What can I say, I'm an 80's gal!

This might be my fav!

I jumped on the Downton Abbey bus over Christmas break.  I watched the first season on Netflix.  Then I subscribed to Hulu+ to catch the second season.  Of course, the third season just finished last week and I watched it week-to-week.  It is worth all the buzz!  But...if you are jumping on board, DO NOT read anything online - there are big spoilers out there.

So what prompted this post?
Nothing was on last night due to the Academy Awards.  I lose interest after seeing the outfits.  Thankfully, I had many shows from last week saved on dvr.

Am I missing any good shows?

Have a great day!

Less than Perfect Dresser

This baby was one of the worst finds yet.  Hubby used a ton of wood filler in his attempt to bring her back to life.  Then I tried to pretty her up.

She's far from perfect, but she has darling quirks to her.  The legs, original handles, the details - all add to her charm.
She is finished in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in French Linen and clear wax.

She's available in B-10 at Heritage Square Antique Mall for $265

Have a great weekend!

Major Overhaul - lots of photos

I had originally planned to share a dresser redo today.  However, my space was so awful that I spent hours at Heritage Square Antique Mall cleaning the place up.
I felt I needed to show you how I spent my Wednesday.  In case anyone thought my life had any glamour at all, I am sure it will be put to rest!

Upon arrival.  Oh my word.  I must say, I just stood there for the longest time trying to decide what to do first.

Here are the steps I took.

New Dresser just arrived!

New with tags Ralph Lauren Dress, size 6, only $32!

Items have been marked down.

It is a great time to shop Vintage Restyled!  Once I catch my breath from yesterday, I will get busy with the paint!

Have a great day!
