Continuing with a week of finished projects, I have a night stand to share. Feel free to get caught up on the previous projects:
On to the Night Stand…
What do you do when a piece of furniture starts chipping?
Answer: It depends.
Gosh, I wish there was an easy answer. But that would make life too easy!
I received this night stand from a friend. She wanted it fixed up and painted.
My first step was to scrape the damaged areas.
Then I lightly sanded to smooth the ridges. Just in one small area I needed to fill with wood filler.
Scraping and sanding did the trick. Most of the time wood filler and sanding are necessary.
Once the dust was wiped away, the painting began.
Isn’t this darling?
I cannot escape a shadow!
Two coats of Annie Sloan Old White and a few coats of clear wax, then sanded to perfection. Actually, there is no perfection. Let's remember that this is hand painted! It is sanded to a smooth finish!
I delivered this piece yesterday. Slowly, wrapping up the lingering projects that taunt me.
Last day to enter! Already entered? Be sure to improve your chances and enter all 3 ways!
Go here for all the details. Good Luck!
