Facing My Fear- Chalk Paint

When I first started using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint a year and a half ago, I played it safe.  I stuck to Old White and Paris Gray.

I love these colors!  But I wanted to try more.  So I got bold.

I dabbled with all the shades of blue.

But the one color that scared me was Graphite.  It is not the true black that I was used to.  It’s almost a dark, steel grey – definitely not black.

So when I found a piece that I wanted black, I went back to my tried and true latex paint.

I decided to face my fear of Graphite and I bought a quart.

This table is painted in Graphite and the bottom is covered in straight dark wax.  The top has not been waxed.

Here the table is complete.  Dark wax all over.

I absolutely love this finish!  It gives it a depth and color similar to pieces at Restoration Hardware.  It definitely gives the piece character.

I am thrilled that I got over my fear and tried Annie Sloan Chalk Paint – Graphite.

You will be seeing a lot more of this color.

This darling table will be available at Simply Vague – Tuttle Crossing Mall on September 1.

Face your fear!

XO-
