Better than the Outlet Mall

Hello All.

Hope you had a good weekend.  We spent the weekend out-of-town near Cincinnati.  Though the reason for our trip was a soccer tournament, I squeezed in a little shopping time too.  I hit the cutest little town- Lebanon, if you are ever near by, it’s worth a stop.  Great antique and gift shops.

Then the power shop came.  Ikea, Ballard Design Outlet, Frontgate Outlet, Pottery Barn Outlet.  It was exhausting!  And I must say, I am appalled at the prices at some of these outlet stores.  The quality and the price just don’t add up.

Perhaps my thrifting days have made me cheap.  I would rather pay for a one of a kind, restyled piece that is solid wood.  Look at this…

I scored this beauty.  It was beat up, but I absolutely loved the legs!

A coat of black paint on top.

I debated painting the legs but decided just to clean them up.

Tournament 004

I cleaned up the legs and the base and roughed up the top.

This rustic baby is at Simply Vague – Tuttle.  Available for sale Saturday.

I promise it’s a cool table and 1/2 the price of anything you would find at the outlets!

XO-

Hurry – B20 at Heritage Square Antique Mall will close Friday.  Everything on Sale.

I agree with you that thrifting gives you sticker shock when you retail shop. In fact I was just talking about that with a friend yesterday! Your table is marvelous!

I took in two fabulous early 1800s chests today to HSAM and John and I were saying the same thing while we were unloading those beasts!! Why would anyone want to buy MDF that is poorly constructed over buying an antique or vintage solid wood piece?
Love Lebanon - have been going there since I was a child to eat at The Golden Lamb. My husband and I had our 1st anniversary dinner there - we just celebrated our 17th on the 19th but much closer to home.
Love the table! You always do a fantastic job!
