Shabby Chic Dresser

When I find a treasure, I usually have a glorious plan on how I will restyle it.  Sometimes I get lucky and can attack it right away.

Other times, the treasure gets placed in storage, things get piled on top and I forget I own the piece.

That’s what happened with this dresser.  I haven’t seen it in a long, long time.

I have no idea what my grand plan was initially.  So I approached it for the first time…again.

This is the best before shot I can find.  On the left you will see what the dresser looked like when I found her.

She was painted and a crackle medium was used.  Crackle was not a good idea!

I used ASCP Coco and gave her a few coats.

I didn’t like that, so I dressed her up with some Old White.  I dry brushed it and then distressed it.

I didn’t like that either.

I then gave it a few good coats of Old White.  And highlighted the curves and details with the same paint.

I painted the hardware, applied a few waxes and here she is:

I am happy it’s in the store and I hope it finds a new home fast.  Honestly, I am tired of looking at her!  She would be great in a boys room, bedroom, entry way or even as a sink in a bathroom.  Lots of options!

Enjoy this beautiful day!

Beautiful! Sometimes the piece sort of speaks to you and evolves as you are doing it....you definitely brought out the best in it!

Thanks for linking up to my weekly Chalk Paint Link Party!
