I have a thing for chairs. I feel sorry for the lone chair and feel compelled to bring it home and give it new life.
I gathered a few recently and revived them. As you will see, I used different techniques to achieve the finish.
Chair #1:
Antique chair with great lines. Using ASCP Coco here she is.
The style of the old chair prevented the usual way I would recover it. The bottom was nailed in, so the seat did not come off. The trim hides the staples.
Chair #2
This beauty called for some color.
Using an oops paint in an aqua shade, I painted right on the existing finish.
I then swiped on some grey oops paint and sanded it in certain spots. To make the colors blend, I wiped on a stain.
All done and covered in a drop cloth. Tres French.
This is my favorite way to redo a chair. The color is soft, yet still makes a statement.
I have a few more that I will share soon. One was a bear!

They both look great! I am crushing on the blue one though!

Love both. Pretty desk too!
Hi, Shannon. I've looked through lots of your posts--love what you've done with some sad pieces!! :) I live in Powell, so happy to have found a Cols. blogger. I'll be following you; I hope you'll stop by and visit too. ~Zuni
