Dresser to Media Console

Hi All,
Hope you had a great weekend and stayed warm.  Ours was quite enjoyable.  A little relaxation, a date night and some projects.  I am pretty excited to share our latest transformation.
I scored a dresser while thrifting.  It was missing a drawer but I had faith that Hubby could overcome that little issue.

It had such great detail that I could not pass this up!
Let me introduce you to Annie Sloan’s Provence.  It is my new fave!  I borrowed it from a friend because something about this piece screamed color.DSC_1663

Before I waxed with the dark, the color was too bright for our room and for our taste.  Hubby convinced me to break out the dark wax.  Thankfully, I did not argue.  It was just what the piece needed to bring in that old world charm.
Hubby did a great job creating a faux drawer.
We left the top natural.  Sanding down the finish and applying a dark stain, followed by a wax finish was all she needed.
She is making a statement in our living room.  The color definitely pops in our sea of browns.

Hope you like it as much as we do.
**This color was very difficult to capture.  Some pics are taken with natural light and others I waited until it was dark.  It is a beautiful, soft aqua.
See ya tomorrow!

Looks great, I love it. I am working on a dresser with a similar color right now. My sister lives in Columbus, I will send her to the antique store.
