An Old Desk – New Again

Since I’m on a spending freeze (trust me, I’m laughing as I type it), Hubby keeps reminding me to, “shop my storage”.  So I dragged a few goodies home to redo.  I had this desk tucked in the back and completely forgot about it!  Score!

The two missing drawers are being repaired at photo time.

It was pretty beat up on the surface, but it had great structure and lots of detail.

I grabbed a fresh can of ASCP in Old White and got busy.

Nothing great at this point.  It took 2 coats all over and a third on the top.  I refrained from a lot of distressing and highlighted the edge.

I lightly sanded the edge and touched it with AS Dark Wax.

Using Mod Podge, I covered a stained drawer with old book pages.

I was fortunate to use all the original hardware.

I finished this chair in ASCP Old White as well and had already reupholstered the seat.  This seemed like the perfect match.

I was really pleased with how they turned out.  It’s been a while since I used Old White.

It sold and was gone when I arrived today.

Hubby and I have been hard at work and we are so proud to share some projects with you.  We really pushed ourselves on a few.  I hope you like them.

XO-

Shannon
