Try to look past the reflection and all the other misc. items that somehow made their way back into the garage. Yikes!
I removed the original hardware to paint the vanity and decided to keep the hardware. It really has great, unique detail.

I could not arrive at a color to paint her. So I experimented with a mix of the Paris Grey and the Old White. The result is a softer grey.

All done and delivered to my new space.

Light distressing highlights the details.
The mirror was a mess. Note to all: Duck Tape does not go on mirrors! The owner wanted to close the mirrors for transport and used duck tape. Oh boy!
Despite all the fancy cleaning products that promise to solve my problems, a good old fashion, inexpensive razor took it all right off!

An amazing transformation, so much better. Glad to see you salvaged this beautiful piece. It has great bones and just needed some TLC.
Truly Fabulous!!! Love that you kept the original hardware!
An amazing transformation. It's a wonderful piece - looks much better with your TLC.
Visiting from Savvy Southern Style. Following you now. :)
I think you arrived at the perfect colour for this. It's just so soft and sweet... you did a great job.
Great transformation, the vanity is now gorgeous :)
It really is gorgeous. I like the softer grey, I also love Old White, am now using it to paint all the trim in my home.
You lucky lady...I envy you the dressing table you have restored. There was one in my husband's family, very similar, but was not up for grabs as it was being used by two bachelor relatives who inherited it from their mother...
You did a beautiful job on restoring yours. What a treasure. I have joined your followers list and picked up your blog button. I hope you will join me as well and grab my blog button as well. Look forward to knowing you. Hugs, Gayle.

Ahh! love it! Especially the distressing!! I just started a first ever Trash To Treasure Tuesdays link party and I'd LOVE for you to share this with my followers over at Kammy's Korner. Much appreciated!!! http://kammyskorner.blogspot.com/2011/10/trash-to-treasure-tuesday-link-party-1.html
I recently revamped a vanity as well! Very similar to yours, only I'm keeping mine! I love it...I still have to "shabby chic" it and am a little afraid.

Love how it turned out. I've come across similar vanities twice on CL and yet to be successful. Keeping my fingers crossed!
