Scored while thrifting, it was love at first sight.

It has beautiful detail on the top and a great curve to the drawers.

Unfortunately the top was pretty beat up.
Having some success with my dresser, I opted for ASCP Paris Gray.

It received two coats in areas and light distressing.

But it was blah and did not bring out the beauty of the desk.
With a random (no measurements taken) mix of dark and light wax, I began playing with the finish.

Since I had applied clear wax before applying my wax concoction, it was easy to wipe off the dark wax with a baby wipe. I did this in the areas that I thought were too dark.

The dark wax really brought out the molding on the top.

There she sits in my space, waiting for a new home. She really is beautiful!
Let’s recap:

And now:

Hope you like as much as I do. Another baby I hate to say goodbye to.
XO-
Shannon

Hi Shannon! Saw it at the store today, it is gorgeous! Won't last long! Sorry I couldn't chat longer, the Mister was halfway outside and I didn't want to get in trouble for slacking!! :-)
Did you make a decision yet?
Gorgeous! I agree the dark wax gives it more depth and character. So cute!
I do like the dark wax on Paris Grey. Just curious, did you paint the insides of the drawers?
That is just lovely! Beautiful job! Found you via Savvy HomeMade. Toodles, Kathryn http://thededicatedhouse.blogspot.com/2011/09/voice-studio.html
