Cedar Chest - Coffee Table

Hi All,

I am happy to share another before & after today.  As you can tell by my posts last week, I have been painting up a storm!

I got this cedar chest off craigslist (when picking up another item).

The top was pretty beat up and the color of wood was just a bit off.  It had been exposed to direct sun, was our guess.

It also sat flat on the ground.  I did not care for that.

Fortunately, I saved some feet from an old sofa we donated.  Hubby worked his magic and screwed them in the bottom of the chest.

Now the chest was coffee table height!

It has great detail, but as I said the wood was off and now the feet did not match.

ASCP to the rescue!  The Paris Grey was heavily distressed with a hand sander.  Then a coat of clear wax was applied and then hit with dark wax and lastly a clear coat.

It has a great keyhole and the distressing really highlights the details.

This is cedar lined and offers great storage.  Would be perfect at the foot of the bed or as a coffee table.

Thanks for stopping!

It's great when you can combine a table with some storage! Nice work.
