Hi All,
Remember my pair of night stands? Apparently, I was being lazy, because you all said to paint the shelves. After a quick trip to the cottage, that is exactly what I did.
When I began this project, the night stands looked like this:
With a couple of coats of ASCP in Old White, light distressing and new knobs, they looked like this:
Taking your advice, I used my edger and a small brush and wedged my hand in the two shelves. Although, Onlineditto had a great suggestion of taping the brush to a long spoon – genius.
Now, the pair look like this:
Bad shadow. Let’s try a new method:
And:
I must say, I like them much better painted! After distressing the shelves a bit, both night stands received a clear wax for a little protection.
My space is picked over and my guests will arrive looking for a place to sleep next Friday. Lots to get to in the next week! Kids are off to school on Tuesday, so I hope to log some serious nap paint time.
Have a great day!
XO-
Shannon

Good choice. I'm pro-laziness but these do look better with paint!
I never find great tables like these. Gorgeous.
It is absolutely beautiful! I have problems getting a paint brush in those spaces as well! Thanks for sharing.
