Legally getting my Dresser

While at the cottage, I went exploring for treasures.  I came across a darling little dresser sitting outside a storage area.  Since it was outside, I debated if it was trash.  I thought it was fair game.  But my mother-in-law was in the car and if it wasn’t there for me, I didn’t want to make her an accomplice to my crime.  So I left it.
The next day, the dude was out there selling stuff from his storage shed.  I scooped the dresser – legally – paid for it and brought it back to life.
Using every clamp we own, Hubby secured its parts.



It looks good now, but the top is a faux wood grain.  Not too pretty.

I was planning to keep the original hardware, but it wasn’t doing it for me.  (Note: there is only one coat of paint in this picture).

Two coats of Old White and a little distressing.

Love the little legs.  Yes, I sanded in my foyer (shhh, don’t tell Hubby).
Now for the hardware…
Yesterday, I posted that the toughest decision was selecting the wall color of our guest room.  Well, picking the accessories for this dresser wasn’t much easier.


The top left is a glass knob and the right is an aqua flower.  What you do not see is the white metal one, that was an instant no!

So, a trip to Hob Lob was needed.


Here are the round glass knobs that made the cut.  They leave the sweetest reflection on the dresser.
So, lets wrap up this post.
