Buffet Reveal

I bought this baby off Craigslist way back when.  It’s been months.  I decided to live with it for a while before deciding exactly what to do with her.
Thrifty Finds buffet 007
She is big and dark and really did not work in our foyer.  So now she looks like this.

Look at that sweet keyhole.

I started to paint her white.

Left her like this for a week or more.  Yup, that’s how we roll around here – half done projects galore!
I wasn’t liking the white.  It was too stark.  Luckily I was painting with Chalk Paint, so I just grabbed the Paris Grey and painted right over the white.  Easy.

Don’t y’all paint right in your foyer?

One coat, and you can see it is still drying.
I used the original hardware and here she is again, all done.

She may stay right where she is, or make an appearance at my space – Vintage Restyled.  We shall see.
Have a great week!
XO-
Shannon

If it makes you feel any better, unless it's a terribly messy project, I just paint where things are in the room too. You did right by changing the paint. I'm liking the "after" version very much!

Looks great! Sounds like you are loving the chalk paint!! No priming is a godsend!!
I could NEVER paint in my foyer! I am the messiest painter ever......walls, floors, dog, cat....they would all be splattered!! :-)

Hi Shannon,
I can't get over the difference! It looks amazing. The color you chose is beautiful, it makes the whole piece look so elegant.

P.S. I'm having trouble commenting on your blog unless I'm "anonymous" :(

I usually don't like original hardware on refinished pieces but this hardware is perfect. LOVE that keyhole!! Great find!

OMG- I have that bought that exact piece for $75 at a Restore, hauled it to my living room, painted the bad boy on the spot and voila, it looks like the twin to yours!
