Updated Buffet

Hi All,

When I opened my booth in early February, I faced two challenges:

1. What will sell?

2. How should I price items?

In the short time that I have been open, I still haven’t figured it out!

I found this beauty and gave her a face lift.

Cedar lined chest.

I sanded down the top and stained it.  I painted and distressed the rest.

It didn’t sell.

A gal who has a booth and does amazing work with furniture, suggested I paint it all.  She said that people shy away from two-toned finishes.  Who knew?

So here she is with a complete makeover.

Here she is in all her glory.

Have a great day!

XO-

Shannon

I love this piece! I don't know that I would shy away from two-toned pieces...but I'm not most people!! Interesting thought though!

Oh wow I wish I could do stuff like this!! We are in New England (New South Wales, Australia) on hols atm and there are antique / old wares stores in every country town full of things I'm sure you would love. I can see they have potential but I wouldn't have a clue where to start. I look forward to following your projects :)

Beautiful piece. I have to confess that I'm one of those people who shy away from two toned pieces...
You brought up a good question about pricing the items you sell in your booth. I'd be interested to learn more about that too! It would be helpful to me as a buyer :)

Hi Shannon, I did comment here the other day but those Blogger issues seem to have deleted my comment, also the one I made on my own blog responding to yours :( Grrr! Anyways just wanted to say wow and I wish I had your talent to do this kind of thing. I'm in New England (NSW, Australia) atm and I love all the old wares / antique stores, I can see the potential in stuff but I'd not have a clue how to make something of it, as you do. Now following :)
